The bane of your existence when working as a desk jockey is going through your emails. As if the toppling towers of Mount Complaint came tumbling down into your inbox, the avalanche of emails never truly ends. The moment you finally reach the mysteriously elusive '0 Unread Messages' banner, a fresh onslaught of notifications pop up to replace it. 

Well, my worthy compatriots of the corporate world, there may be no end to your inbox, but there is a surefire way to get a micromanaging boss off of your back by weaponizing your mailbox.

    154 emails so far in the last hour, even when they're not even relevant to her. I.e "hi coworker, can you ring John back in 5 mins please" "Hi coworker, just to let you know maxis had her medication on time today" "Hi coworker, Betty sends her love" It'll only last another hour at most..

Move on if you can because it'll only get worse when your boss realizes you're playing along instead of being a little submissive good silent worker like she'd want. Beware. Heed my words. That would "swamp" her inbox....and be a teaching experience that she or he if the boss happens to be not female/binary/non binary/martian/android/robotic or any other term you might use.....sorry, lost track there....teaching experience. Yes, the boss not be the smartest tool/pencil/flashlight etc etc etc... pick your fill in the blank........

    ObsoleteReference - 3 hr. ago Outlook actually has (had?) an option to copy a person on all outgoing mail. I used it when transitioning out of a position. New hire did get some extraneous stuff.

    Rhamona_Q 5 hr. ago Rule 7: Include the fallout. Wait until expected fallout has occurred before sharing. You must also have maliciously complied, not just thought about how you want to. If you're expecting to have an update, wait until that later date. If additional fallout occurs later, you may be able to update, but it should be a surprise.
